Sporran Maker for the United States Naval Academy Pipes and Drums Band
My love for working leather started in the early 70′s when I sold hand tooled belts to support my not-so-glamorous rodeo career as a bare back and bull rider. As I learned that there were less painful ways to have fun, my interests were swayed by my Scottish heritage.
My family and I have spent many years enjoying Renaissance Festivals and Highland Games. Sporrans, bags and other accessories to compliment our Scottish wardrobes soon took the place of western belts. In my search for a niche, I have started hand tooling knots and other designs on the lids. Each item is handmade, one at a time! I will sell nothing that I wouldn’t wear myself!
The Renaissance period has had a strong influence on the design of my sporrans. I also wanted to make them functional as I frequently wear a kilt in my daily life. Useful as well as ornamental you might say; these sporrans are large enough to accommodate wallet, cell phone, car keys and a flask if the occasion calls for it!
To include the ladies in my life I have added leather bags. Any sporran design can be matched on a ladies bag!
I hope that you will contact me with any questions. Thank you for visiting my website and for your interest in my work.
