Tracey's Hope
$300.00
This bag was inspired by a woman who has touched many lives, including those of myself and my family. Tracey was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia several years ago. In 2010 the disease has progressed to the point that a bone marrow transplant was required to save her life.
Tracey's family formed "Team Tracey" to provide support for this difficult and challenging ordeal.
Team Tracey requested help in providing origami cranes as a show of support. This was based on the beautiful story of Sadako and the friend who inspires her to make one thousand paper cranes. According to the old story about the crane, if a sick person folds one thousand paper cranes, the gods will grant her one wish and make her healthy again.
Countless friends, family, students of friends, co-workers of friends spent hours folding paper into cranes and sent them with hope and prayers to Tracey at John Hopkins.
Never have I know such a brave and determined person… facing daily pain and constant challenges, Tracey never lost her positive attitude.
On day 64 of Tracey's journey our oldest son James was rushed to an emergency room. We were devastated by the diagnosis of CML. As we struggled to deal with the shocking news Tracey reached out to us and to James. Her caring for others knows no bounds. Ten percent of the price of this purse will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of this brave lady!
